Aaron Robert Thomas

SAVANNAH - Aaron Robert Thomas (Jackson) was born on June 28, 1989 in Brampton, Ontario born through Sherma Jackson and Phillip Polydore and the adopted son of Sylvester and Evalice Thomas. He is the only son of Sherma and Phillip and brother to Kenisha Peterson. At the age of 25, he was married to Sasha Alexandria McKenzie in Chatham County, Savannah Georgia on February 3rd, 2015. He graduated from Atlantic Technical Center and Technical High School in 2007, attended Broward College, Johnson & Wales University, and went on to pursue a Business Marketing degree from Savannah State University.
He served in the US Army from 2011 to 2015 when he was honorably (medically) discharged for Systemic Lupus. Aaron was attached to 3-17 CAV. While going to school full-time at Savannah State he started working at Nike part time and later held a position in Management for a brief period. Aaron was a sports enthusiast, loved music and was very family oriented. Many friends would turn to Aaron in times of need because he was a good listener and spoke from the heart.
Aaron was a member of Eliathah Seventh Day Adventist Church in Tamarac, Florida and attended West Broad SDA while stationed at Hunter Army Airfield until his passing. Aaron was a pathfinder and part of the Drum Corps, he took part in the youth department and held the position of junior deacon.
Aaron leaves behind his widow Sasha A Thomas, one daughter, Aniya Elizabeth Thomas, from a previous marriage as well as a daughter from his current marriage, Autumn Miah-Rose Thomas. He also is survived by his mother, Sherma Jackson, sister Kenisha Peterson, grandparents Oliver Jackson and Evalice Thomas and adoptive father Sylvester Thomas, aunts, uncles and extended family members.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Friday, October 14, 2016, at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, October 15, 2016, at The Coastal Cathedral, 275 Berwick Blvd, Savannah, GA 31419.
Interment will be on Monday in Beaufort National Cemetery in Beaufort, SC.
